As you may know, Funky Dave collects pictures of lost gloves. Freud may have something to say about that. However, more exclusively, I have found a picture of a glove bag.

Every now again we get a skip provided my the council in a local street. This makes for great sport as the council workers are able to take the stuff out of the skip faster than the public can load it in sometimes. You see them driving off with armchairs etc. strapped to the roofs of their cars. This pile of junk was nice although I don't think the cone is part of it. An old barbecue and some useful looking bits of aluminium. Now if only I had a garage big enough...

In the category "collectables" - busted umbrellas. Not the best but a collection is a collection

Another one to my amazing collection of blown through umbrellas and other rubbish. Amazing only by the thought of why the hell do I do it and why do you look at it? I like this picture as it has some people's shadows as well. Unfortunately it looks like it's in focus though.

As you may know Funky Dave collects pictures of gloves an other abandoned items. So here's one he can add to his collection. Actually I see quite a few pairs of gloves on the tube but these are in pairs so, I assume, not so lonely.

It's nice to have a hobby, unless it's collecting photos of broken umbrellas. However, Monday was a dreary difficult day and this was a highlight. I particularly like the way that something inconsequential, perhaps the cardboard box, has been chained to the lampost. Or perhaps it's the other way round.

Here are some of my other collections.
Funky Dave collects photos of gloves. Well it keeps him off the streets I suppose. Not. Here is a nice autumnal glove that I found in Leicester yesterday. It was the rough part of the main high street so it was giving me the finger.

Walking along the Great North Road towards Whetstone you get to see a lot of rubbish chucked away. This particular item was on the pavement and it just goes to show what an up and coming area this is. None of your empty crisp packets here! It's a wedding invitation. The date has gone by (a few weeks ago) so maybe the owner of this was just "name dropping" by leaving a better class of rubbish on the pavement outside their house. These things matter.

Dave collects (?) pictures of gloves lying around. I have higher aspirations hence this set I found on a washing line.

Dave has a collection of photos mainly discarded or lost from photo booths. I have decided to start collecting pictures of people that are discarded or lost in my inbox. Here's the first and its from Lee. Apparently its a girl he chatted up on ICQ. Her name is Maria and she is Bulgarian I think and trying to learn English.
He's arranging a date with her so I'll let you know how he gets on (i.e. if he says she turned out to be a lesbian then we'll all know the real truth).

As luck would have it, following my disappointment earlier in the week, I spotted this discarded blown through umbrella. Beautiful, fascinating. The Turner Prize here I come.
